RACES
Beginners
Taking up running can seem like a scary thought, especially if the last time you popped on a pair of trainers was when you were at school.
But did you know that regular running can help reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and stroke, boost your mood and keep your weight under control?*
Several times a year we run a specific beginners program to help new and less confident runners get started. Our Get Up and Run course is led by our experienced England Athletics qualified coaches Georgina and Sara and is designed to get you off the sofa and will gradually work you up to running a 5K park run or local race. It has also been created to work in tandem with the NHS Couch to 5K plan.
The course is just 10 weeks long and costs just £40 plus it includes a years club membership with Angels running club and a free Angels training T-shirt.

Calendar
Angels 10k
Every year we hold our own 10K road race. Part of the Gloucestershire AAA County Road Race series it attracts lots of runners from local clubs.
This years race was scheduled to be held in April but due to extensive flooding on the course it had to be postponed. It will now take place on Sunday, 23rd September. All original entrants have been automatically entered in the rescheduled race. If you are unable to make the new date please drop us an email and we will defer your entry and enter you in our 2019 race instead.
The race follows the route established in 2012, starting and finishing at the Woodpeckers Cricket Club in Ashleworth village. An exciting and undulating course, runners enjoy great views of the Cotswolds, the Malverns and river Severn.
Last year's overall winner was Steve Millward from Gloucester AC in a time of 34:20. For the forth year running Shona Crombie-Hicks from Bourton Roadrunners was the first lady home in 40.03.
Full results from 2017's race can be found on our Facebook page.
