Information for Beginners

Taking up running can seem like a scary thought, especially if the last time you popped on a pair of trainers was when you were at school.

But did you know that regular running can help reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and stroke, boost your mood and keep your weight under control?

Several times a year we run a specific beginner's program to help new and less confident runners get started. Our Get Up and Run course was created by our experienced England Athletics qualified coach Georgina and managed each week by our Beginner's Rep Carolyn. It is designed to get you off the sofa and will gradually work you up to running a 5K park run or local race. It has also been created to work in tandem with the NHS Couch to 5K plan.

Each course is just 10 weeks long and costs just £30 and includes club membership.
